The Bruery Talks Sour Ales
I don't normally put two videos up back to back for content but I just had to share this one. Sour beers are on the come up and I have personally made it a New Year's resolution to try as many as I can possibly can in 2012. Enjoy this little video from some of the guys at The Bruery discussing sour beers from ingredients that make them to process and care of aging them in oak. I really knew nothing about sour beers and this was a pretty decent crash course and worth the watch.

Sweet Founders Video
I came across this video on our Facebook feed just a few minutes ago. The video interviews Co-Founder of Founders, Dave Engbers. He discusses the growth of Founders Brewing Company and how Michigan beer is some of the most unique brew hitting the market. I can't thank Michigan Advantage enough for throwing this piece together, Founders is one of my favorite breweries and this video makes me love them even more.

The Lost Abbey Devotion

It's time to dive in to the other side of the latest breweries to hit New Jersey via our good friends at Hunterdon. There has been a good amount of hype surrounding The Lost Abbey's beers' arrival so I figured I would start with one of their familiar suspects - Devotion Ale, a dry hopped Belgian-inspired Blond Ale. Devotion Ale is a very unique Lost Abbey beer as it's the only one in the portfolio that uses the dry hopping method, while toning down the yeast to give a flavorful and hoppy Belgian Pale Ale element. Having read up on it and having had a glass at the kick-off party, I couldn't wait to hit the store for a few bottles of this delicious brew.
A Few Things From Rogue

I got a sweet little package in yesterday from Rogue Brewing Company in Oregon. You might be familiar with their staple beer, Dead Guy Ale but let me assure Rogue offers many more styles including some very unique batches of beer. Included in those unique batches are a few collaboration beers. Rogue teamed up with some other popular locals to turn out these two brews. The brew on the left is a Bacon Maple Porter that they brewed with local doughnut establishment, VooDoo Doughnuts. The bottle to the right is an all Oregon beer, made with all Oregon ingridients and brewed in collaboration with Portland State University, go Vikings! I can't wait to dive into these beers and share with you, stay tuned.

Port Brewing Mongo IPA

Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey are still the hot topic of discussion in the New Jersey craft beer scene. Beer bars and local bottle shops have their shelves and draft lines flowing with some the best hand-crafted brews on the market. We recently shared our coverage of their kick-off party at Mohawk House last week and now it's time to dive into some of these beers on their own. We are big fans of the West Coast Style IPA's here at IDGB and thought it would be proper to start with Port Brewing's Mongo - a Double IPA that is sure to please any hop head looking for a flavorful brew.
Port Brewing And The Lost Abbey Kick Off At Mohawk House
Mohawk House hosted the third and final launch party last night for Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey's arrival in New Jersey. Beer drinkers flooded the bar, eager to try some of the best brews from the West Coast and chat it up with one of the biggest names in the craft beer industry - Tomme Arthur.
